Collection of general information on the website

When you access our website, general information is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and similar information. This information is solely information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally. This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver the website content you request and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this type is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimize our website and the technology behind it.

Borlab Cookies

Some of our websites use so-called cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our services more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies." They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.

This website uses Borlabs Cookie, which sets a technically necessary cookie (borlabs-cookie) to save your cookie consent.

Borlabs Cookie does not process any personal data.

The borlabs-cookie cookie stores the consent you gave when visiting the website. If you wish to revoke this consent, simply delete the cookie in your browser. When you re-enter/reload the website, you will be asked again for your cookie consent.

You can revoke or adjust your cookie settings at any time here

Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass this data on without your consent. The processing of the data entered into the contact form is therefore exclusively based on your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal email. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the time of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your inquiry has been processed).

Google Analytics

Some pages use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). This service includes the "Universal Analytics" operating mode. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions, and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID, thus analyzing a user's activities across devices.

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information about your use of the website generated by the cookie is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Our legitimate interest in data processing also lies in these purposes. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Section 15 (3) German Telemedia Act (TMG) and Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Sessions and campaigns are terminated after a certain period of time. By default, sessions are terminated after 30 minutes of inactivity, and campaigns are terminated after six months. The time limit for campaigns can be a maximum of two years. Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://policies.google.com/?hl=de

You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that if you do this you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser add-on here https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected in the future when you visit this website. To prevent Universal Analytics from collecting data across different devices, you must opt out on all systems used.

Google reCAPTCHA

Our website uses "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA"). The provider is Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).

reCAPTCHA is designed to check whether the data entered on our website (e.g. in a contact form) is being entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, length of time the website visitor stays on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place. Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and from SPAM.

For more information about Google reCAPTCHA and Google's privacy policy, please visit the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html

Google Maps

This site uses the Google Maps service via an API. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

To use the features of Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission.

We use Google Maps in the interest of providing an attractive presentation of our online offerings and making the locations we list on our website easy to find. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation.

For more information on how user data is handled, please see Google’s privacy policy: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Google Web Fonts (lokales Hosting)

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for consistent font display. Google Fonts are installed locally. There is no connection to Google servers.

Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Ireland Ltd, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).

As part of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the Internet browser stores on the user's computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked across AdWords customers' websites. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

Conversion cookies are stored based on a legitimate interest. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.

For more information about Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, please see Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

Social networks

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. You can find the social networks we use below.

Social networks such as LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. can generally comprehensively analyze your user behavior when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g., like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media presence triggers numerous data protection-relevant processing operations. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected even if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data is collected, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.

Using the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles that record your preferences and interests. This allows them to display interest-based advertising both within and outside of the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on social media portals. Depending on the provider, additional processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. Details can be found in the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media portals.

1 Legal basis

Our social media presence is intended to ensure the most comprehensive online presence possible. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g., consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

2 Person responsible and assertion of rights

If you visit one of our social media presences (e.g., LinkedIn), we and the operator of the social media platform are jointly responsible for the data processing operations initiated during this visit. You can generally assert your rights (rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and complaints) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g., LinkedIn).

Please note that despite our shared responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence over the data processing practices of the social media portals. Our options depend largely on the corporate policies of the respective provider.

3 Storage period

The data we collect directly via your social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data, which is stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g., in their privacy policy, see below).
